Coming from a long line of teachers , I  have always had an interest in education. I was a history teacher and head of year in Feltham, at Longford Community College, before joining the Department of Education in 2003. Since then, I have led a number of projects across education and children’s social care. This has included delivery of major programmes , such as 30 hours free childcare, as well responsibility for complex policy areas , such as children in care . In 2020 I joined the Department for Health and Social Care to support the response to Covid 19 and currently have responsibility for testing, PPE and vaccines in the adult social care sector .

I was a governor at Reach Academy Feltham when it opened in 2012 and I am delighted to still be involved as the school expands into a multi academy trust. As well as being a member at Reach, I am also a vice chair of governors at a large comprehensive in East Sussex .
